Mondeas Launches New Kenya-Based Series on Channel O
03 Dec 07

“S’KIKA” is an East Africa-based, music-driven television series airing on Channel O in January. The 24-minute, weekly magazine is a topical, thought-provoking and entertaining program shot through the lens of the local youth, arts and music culture.

Each episode, our hip-hop styled presenter introduces an issue of the week and challenges the viewers to think for themselves. We use the weekly issue as a central theme to weave ourselves through the fabric of the local music and arts scene. From there, the show segues into live music, events, videos, interviews and entertainment news. Nothing stands still, always moving, always on location.

The weekly issue is timely and relevant and covers a range of proposed topics such as civil rights, sex, arts, poverty and political freedom. These are the issues of the music itself!

S’KIKA is the latest studio joint venture between Mondeas and Quite Bright Films (QBF), East Africa’s leading production house. This partnership, which began over a year ago, has created a new studio production environment for Kenya utilizing the best TV/Film production talent available in Kenya. At Mondeas/QBF we pride ourselves on producing cutting edge programming—from broadcast TV to corporate videos. Whatever the budget, we execute only the highest quality films that strictly adhere to international broadcast standards.

Together with QBF, Mondeas has been able to engage in event, corporate, commercial, broadcast and documentary production/programming. Mondeas/QBF has both a production and post-production capacity unmatched in East Africa, and its projects have ranged from feature-length broadcast documentaries for international television release to high profile television commercials.

Together and separately, the Mondeas/QBF client roster includes BBC World Service, MTV-base, National Geographic, United Nations, Nakumatt, and Barclays, among others.

The studio’s focus is on original content for the international and pan-African market, as well as the international aid industry, which is demonstrating an increasing demand for customized media content and campaigns through film, print and the Internet. In this same vein, Mondeas is filling a niche in the business community as corporations increasing ly realize the value of short corporate videos and interactive DVDs.
